What does it take to become an FCCLA member?
  • Be in 7th-12th grade

  • Have taken a Family and Consumer Class (at OHS, it is required to take one your 7th-grade year)

  • Pay $25 in dues

Requirements to get credit as a member:
  • Attend at least 5 meetings

  • Pay your dues

  • Participate in 5 activities 

  • Attend the District Leadership Conference (DLC) or participate in STAR

Membership:
  • 2012-2013: 64 members

  • 2013-2014: 47 members

  • 2014-2015: 50 members

  • 2015-2016: 50 members

  • 2016-2017: 54 members

May:

  • Claire Morrow is a sophomore at OHS.

  • Why did you join FCCLA? I took an FCS class and Mrs. Mann said I would really benefit from it.

  • What do you love most about FCCLA? I love being able to break out of my shell and spread awareness about things that are important to me through STAR.

  • Favorite food? Any fruit!

  • Favorite hobby/past time? Fishing with my dad.

April:

  • Robyn Isom is a senior at OHS.

  • Why did you join FCCLA? My friend did FCCLA and really enjoyed it and so she told me I would too.

  • What do you love most about FCCLA? I love the friends you meet throughout the organization.

  • Favorite food? Tacos

  • Favorite hobby/past time? Reading

March:

  • Sara Morrow is in eighth grade at OHS.

  • Why did you join FCCLA? My older cousins did FCCLA and were really good at it and they encouraged me to try it.

  • What do you love most about FCCLA? I like being able to write a speech with my friends and give back to the community.

  • Favorite food? Beef stroganoff 

  • Favorite hobby/past time? Doing DIY projects

February:

  • Makenna Welke is a freshman at OHS.

  • Why did you join FCCLA? I saw posters around school and always wanted to try it and so I did!

  • What do you love most about FCCLA? I love being able to grow my leadership skills while having fun!

  • Favorite food? Chicken

  • Favorite hobby/past time? Speech

 

January:

  • Amanda Brown is a junior at OHS.

  • Why did you join FCCLA? I always heard about it growing up and wanted to try it for myself!

  • What do you love most about FCCLA? I love being able to connect with others from different schools.

  • Favorite food? Cupcakes!

  • Favorite hobby/past time? Playing volleyball.

December:

  • Kelsey Osborne is in eighth grade at OHS. 

  • Why did you join FCCLA? I joined FCCLA because my older sister Lauren talked about how much she loved it. I decided to try it out for myself and it has become a part of me, too.

  • What do you love most about FCCLA? What I love most about FCCLA is that there is a wide variety of things it teaches and helps people in need.

  • Favorite Food? Everything with bacon, eggs, and cheese on it.

  • Favorite hobby/past time? Learning different songs on my guitar.

 

November:

  • Faith Walton is a sophomore at OHS.

  • Why did you join FCCLA? My brother encouraged me.

  • What’s your favorite thing about FCCLA? The leadership skills you learn. 

  • Favorite Food? Spaghetti.

  • Favorite hobby/past time? Taking photos.

 

October:

  • Payton Birkel is a junior at OHS.

  • Why did you join FCCLA? Because my friends were very active in FCCLA and I was inspired by them.

  • What do you like most about FCCLA? The opportunity to meet new people.

  • Favorite food? Spicy.

  • Favorite hobby/past time? Reading and sports. 

Outstanding Members

Every year at our end of the year banquet, one member from each grade gets recognized and rewarded for being an outstanding member. Also, every member gets a reward for being an active member.
